MEDC Awards Three Tenders to Boost Muscat Power Network
Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC) a member of Nama Group - has awarded three tenders worth more than OMR 3 million.
This step comes in line with the company's continuous efforts to develop and operate safe economic network of its power network in Muscat Governorate in line with the requirements of the comprehensive urban, economic and industrial development.
The first tender is for the expansion of Sur Al-Hadid Power Station in Wilayat Al-Seeb for the capacity of 20 x 2 MVA to 20x3 MVA. The tender value exceeds OMR 700,000 and it was awarded to GLOBAL CHEMICALS & MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS LLC.
The second tender for the construction of a power station in Al-Amerat Heights (4). The tender value exceeds OMR 1 million with a capacity of 20x3 MVA and it was awarded to Ghantoot Transport & General Contracting LLC.
The third contract for extension of 33 MVA-cables and 11 MVA -cables. The value of the tender exceeds OMR 500, 000 and it was awarded to Al-Falahi Company.
The implementation of these projects will contribute in consolidating the efficiency of the main power network to meet the high load due to the steady population expansion in the areas covered by these stations. These contracts are part of the company's business to boost the power network in Muscat Governorate.
