Muscat Electricity Distribution Company launches a primary substation in Al Amerat
Muscat Electricity Distribution Company, a member of the Nama Group, recently launched a primary substation in Al Amerat with a value of more than OMR 2 million to improve the quality of the electricity network in the area.
The plant was constructed with a voltage of 11/33 kV and a capacity of 3 x 20 MVA, The project was executed by the Omani National Company for Engineering and Investment.
It is worth mentioning that Muscat Electricity Distribution Company invested approximately OMR 51.5 million in the construction of electrical stations and extensions in 2017.
This step comes in line with the company's continuous efforts in developing and operating safe and economical network in the Governorate of Muscat; according to the requirements of comprehensive development in the areas of urban, economic and industrial development.
The implementation of these projects will contribute towards improving the efficiency of the electricity network to meet the high loads; resulted by steady population expansion and the load demand peak in the area during the summer. These contracts are part of the company's work plan to strengthen the electricity network in Muscat Governorate.
