Connection & Expansion of Meter

A. Simple Connection with Small Load:

The connection is identified as simple connection with small load if these conditions are applied:
1- The distance from the property and the nearest 11kV network is 1.5km or less and,
2- The connected power required is 60kW or less.
The charges for the this type of connections are as follows:

Simple Connection with Large Load:

The connection is identified as simple connection with large load if these conditions are applied:
1- The distance from the property and the nearest 11kV network is 1.5km or less and,
2- The connected power required is more than 60kW and less than 2500kW.
The charges for the this type of connections are as follows:

                              - non-Commercial Property: Residential property of 4 flats or less and public properties such as mosques.
                              - Commercial Property: All the properties that is not classified as non-commercial.


C. Complex Connection:

The connection is identified as complex connection if these conditions are applied:
1- The distance from the property and the nearest 11kV network is more than 1.5km or/and,
2- The connected power required is more than 2500kW.
The customer will then pay all the charges of equipments, modifications and installations to make the network available and will pay the connection charges as per the rates specified in above tables.

Payment Methods:

  • Cash
    You can pay your electricity bills by cash in any of the OIFC collection centers and or any Bank in Oman.

  • Credit Cards
    OIFC collection centers only accept MASTERCARD and VISA cards for electricity bill payments.

  • Internet
    You can pay your electricity bills if you have an Online Banking account with local banks (i.e. Bank Muscat, NBO and Bank Dhofar)

  • Cheques
    Payments through cheques are accepted only for corporate clients. Personal cheques are generally not accepted
